After a long winter it is beginning to feel like spring has arrived here in Cardiff and we have to say its not a minute too soon! Phew - Its great to see the daffodils and feel the sunshine once again. Many people find this is a good time of year to have a good spring clear out, whether that means throwing out unwanted items, packing up winter clothes until next year, or even putting a new lick of paint on tired looking walls. It feels good to start a fresh, right? Well if you know your dental care regime was not up to scratch last year, now is a brilliant time to spring clean your teeth too! Read on to find out what we recommend:
Change your tooth brush
Is it about time you brought yourself a new toothbrush? Are the bristles showing signs of wear? We think you probably know the answer... If you use a manual toothbrush make sure you choose a new one from a reputable brand, as cheap tooth brushes can damage tooth enamel. A few pennies extra now could save you money later on. If you use an electric toothbrush take a good look at the head on yours and see if its time for a change. Make sure you buy the right head to go with your brand of brush.
Check if your'e flossing regularly
How is your flossing going? Are you managing to floss daily, or is it more like once a week? Use all of that spring enthusiasm to breathe new life into your flossing regime. We recommend keeping note of when you floss, perhaps by using a flossing app, as you often discover what you think you are doing is quite different from what your'e actually doing!
Come in for a check-up
Is it time you came in to see us for a check-up? Remember you should be aiming to have a check-up at least once every 6 months. If its time for yours you can contact a member of our team here to book and appointment.
Book in to see the hygienist
When did you last see the hygienist? Spring is a great time to book yourself in for a scale and polish. Talk to your dentist about this when you come in for your check-up. You'll have your teeth looking fabulous in no time! How have you been enjoying spring in Cardiff and South Wales? Why not let us know over on Facebook or Twitter?
