Options for Straight Teeth in Cardiff
Obtaining straight teeth nowadays is something that can be achieved in a relatively short period of time due to the constantly improving and changing orthodontic treatments, however, this means that there is an abundance of different options for straight teeth.
Bamboo Dental offers four different types of orthodontic treatment, each with their own benefits that can be explained to you by Dr. Dan or one of the other dentists at Bamboo Dental if you come in for a free consultation. Here they are:
Six Month Smiles
The first option for straight teeth at Bamboo Dental is the Six Month Smiles orthodontic treatment, this treatment straightens teeth in such a short period of time (average time of six months) because the appliance changes the cosmetic appearance of the teeth only, rather than the change of the bite that can take conventional braces up to 2 years to complete. The Six Month Smile appliance is hard to notice as the wires and brackets match the colour of your teeth, meaning that during your treatment you will have no problems showing off your smile, unlike other types of braces, such as conventional metal braces, that make patients feel self-conscious.
The Invisalign treatment is another near-invisible and fast treatment. It uses clear, removable aligners that are replaced every two weeks that make small increments to your teeth as the aligners are replaced until you achieve your desired smile. The benefits of this treatment are the short treatment time (usually 12 months, depending on the level of adjustment required), the convenience of use, such as the ability to remove the aligners whilst eating and during special events and finally the fact that they’re nearly invisible, meaning you won’t feel self-conscious wearing them.
The Inman Aligner is a relatively new orthodontic treatment in the UK and is the perfect solution for protrusion or crowding of the front teeth. Compared to other systems, the Inman Aligner is a very fast system – most cases are completed in 6-16 weeks, depending on the amount of adjustments of the teeth required. Like the Invisalign system, the Inman Aligner is fully removable, allowing you to remove the appliance during special occasions and during meal times, allowing your oral health to be sustained. Click here to learn more about how the Inman Aligner works and some before and after pictures of patients who have used the Inman Aligner.
The Smilelign aligner is a removable, clear appliance that is hardly noticeable – people won’t even know you’re having your teeth straightened. The Smilelign aligners are similar to Invisalign in that new aligners are sent every two to four weeks to the patient, making small adjustments to the teeth every time a new set of aligner is sent. The aligners are made to be as thin and comfortable as possible as they are hand made, and any minor speech issues or discomfort you may have will last just a few days. The F.A.Q section on the official Smilelign website answers any questions you may have about the treatment.
Tom, a 25 year old teacher from Cardiff came to Bamboo Dental for a free consultation after hearing about the options for straight teeth offered by Bamboo Dental. As a teenager, Tom had fairly crooked teeth and was given metal braces under the NHS. Due to how crooked his teeth were, Tom had metal braces for just under two years, he hated that for the entire time he was self-conscious about his smile due to how visible the metal braces were. When Tom had his braces removed, he was pleased with the results and was given clear, removable Essix retainers. For years, Tom Wore the Essix retainers to make the results permanent, however, as he got older and went to university he forgot to wear the retainer as much, which caused his teeth to shift back to their original position. By the time Tom had finished university, his teeth had shifted so much that his Essix retainers did not fit anymore. After a few years, Tom’s teeth had shifted back so much that he decided that he wanted orthodontic treatment again to straighten his teeth. He asked his colleagues at his school where he taught and was referred to Bamboo Dental. Tom did some research and found the various options for straight teeth. He decided to give Bamboo Dental a call, who advised him to come in for a free consultation so Dr. Dan or one of the other dentists could talk more about his preferences and goals so they could recommend a suitable treatment for him. Tom wanted something that would take under 12 month from start to finish and something that is discrete so people wouldn’t notice; he was recommended the Invisalign treatment as it fitted Tom’s preferences. Tom decided to go ahead with the Invisalign treatment after weighing up his options and booked in for treatment. After 12 comfortable months of wearing the clear Invisalign aligners, Tom’s teeth looked as good as ever, and he was given a new set of Essix retainers to ensure his results were permanent. Tom was ecstatic with the results and said “The Invisalign treatment has helped me so much by straightening my teeth in such a short period of time, the fact that the aligners were near invisible meant that nobody noticed I was wearing them which was huge for the profession I’m in,” he also joked that he would never again forget to wear his retainers again.
Due to the number of options for straight teeth, it is important that you sit down with a professional. Dr. Dan, the head dentist at Bamboo Dental offers a free consultation to all new enquiring patients, who can advise you on which of the options for straight teeth is suitable for you based on your current positioning of your teeth and what your goals are in achieving a new smile.

Everyone wants to have a straight smile that they can flaunt in photographs. This huge demand has led to a variety of options surfacing in the cosmetic industry. For example, the Quick Straight Teeth orthodontic system. There are so many more ways you can achieve a perfect smile now that it can become overwhelming. Which is the best way? Which is the worst way? Too much choice can sometimes lead to information overload and this only makes us worry about making the wrong decision more and more. So here’s a concise guide to let you know what the options are and which may be most suitable for you.
What are the Alternatives to Quick Straight Teeth?
When looking in to teeth straightening methods you may have come across Quick Straight Teeth. Quick Straight Teeth offer two options for orthodontic treatment. Both fixed braces and clear aligners. We’ll go into more detail on those now.
Quick Straight Teeth Fixed Braces
Quick Straight Teeth use clear brackets and tooth coloured wires to keep your fixed braces as discreet as possible whilst still keeping performance as high as possible.
Each dentist that works with the Quick Straight Teeth method use only 3M brackets. This is because they have a very reliable track-record for working well. They are also nearly invisible once placed in the mouth which is a plus for those worrying about walking around with the typical ‘metal mouth’ brace.
Quick Straight Teeth is not useful for every case of teeth straightening however, in fact it is only used to correct mild alignment issues in the front 6 or 8 teeth.
Alternatives to Quick Straight Teeth Fixed Braces
The issue with Quick Straight Teeth is that it is only useful for those candidates who have mild alignment issues in the front few teeth. There are some other options, however, that your cosmetic dentist to have a little more flexibility in the types of cases he is able to treat.
Six Month Smiles | Speed and Discreetness in One Simple Brace
Six Month Smiles is one of the most popular fixed brace systems in the world. Dr Dan, the Head Dentist at Bamboo is the leading provider of this treatment in Wales completing large amounts of cases each year. This teeth straightening system is so highly regarded due to its great ability to correct a variety of tooth issues. From cross bites to overbites, Six Month Smiles has you covered.
As for the discreet appearance of the brace. It comes in a clear brace with tooth coloured wires much like the appearance of the Quick Straight Teeth Brand. It is advised not to eat foods that could stain the brace such as curry as this may discolour the aesthetic appearance and leave you feeling conscious about your stained brace wire!
Another great advantage to the Six Month Smiles system is the short treatment time needed. Where most fixed brace systems can take 1.5 to 2 years to get your perfect smile crafted, Six Month Smiles can do this in just 6 months. Although it may be slightly less or more depending on the starting position of your teeth.

Quick Straight Teeth Clear Aligners
Quick Straight Teeth also offer a second type of teeth straightening that uses a similar method to Invisalign. These are a series of clear aligners that are almost completely invisible and are entirely removable. This is useful for those who don’t mind waiting a little longer for their teeth straighten in exchange for a more discreet looking orthodontic system.
Alternatives to Quick Straight Teeth Clear Aligners
Quick Straight Teeth were not the first to come up with the concept of the clear aligner. In fact, the concept was first dreamed up by a man named Zia Chishti who later developed the concept into what is now known as Invisalign.
Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to gradually move your teeth from their starting position to your desired smile. One of the biggest selling points of this product is the level of 3D technology used to create your ‘desired smile’. At your first appointment you’ll undergo a few x-rays so that a map of your teeth can be generated on the state of the art 3D software. Here you will be able to see the journey that your teeth are about to embark upon in order to reach the perfect smile at the end.
Invisalign aligners should be worn for at least 20 hours of the day. However, it is fine and recommended for your to take out these braces when you are eating food or drinking. This means that you can actually continue to eat all the foods and drinks that you want. Compared to fixed braces this certainly gives you a lot more freedom.
Something to keep in mind…
One of the questions that you need to ask yourself before opting for these types of removable braces is if you have the self-discipline to keep the brace in for the 20 hours or more each day. If you think that you lack the willpower to keep the brace in then this could hold back your treatment time as it’s going to take much longer for the brace to work than it should.

Have you been wondering, what’s the best way to get white teeth? As a cosmetic dentist we bring out the whiteness in many sets of teeth. We do this every day and so we may just have all the right answers for you. Depending on the level of staining your teeth currently have a different approach to whitening your teeth may be necessary. Regardless, there are the ‘best ways’ and the ‘worst ways’ that can be used to help you get white teeth.
What is the Best Way to Get White Teeth?
Many people have tried to solve the problem of how to get whiter teeth yet some have been more successful than others. Don’t be fooled by the cheap alternatives that you may find in the dark edges of the internet. These will only disappoint you. Let’s go through some of the best and worst methods you can use to whiten your teeth.
Ways to Get White Teeth
I think it’s time we delve in to some of the ways in which you can embark on your journey to whiter teeth. Many people stumble through various methods on their journey and waste a lot of time before they find out what really works. We’ll help you avoid all of the turmoil and get straight to the golden nuggets of the teeth whitening world.
1. Professional laser teeth whitening
Professional laser teeth whitening is one of the quickest ways to get white teeth. In fact, you can expect the colour of your teeth to become up to 8 shades whiter after just 1 hour of treatment. Brilliant! The process is simple enough too. You first come in for a consultation with our head dentist. He will give you a check up to make sure that your teeth are dentally fit for the teeth whitening procedure. There will be instances where you need to have some work done such as a filling before it is safe to administer teeth whitening solution to your teeth.
After your consultation and the thumbs up that you’re dentally fit you’ll be ready to start your treatment. During the treatment you will sit in the dental chair and have a special solution painted onto your teeth whilst your cheeks are retracted. You’ll then have a special laser shone close to the teeth to activate the solution into a working state. You will go through this process in 4 x 15 minute sessions and the result is a beautiful bright white smile to be proud of!
On top of all of this you’ll also get some take home whitening trays given to you with a home maintenance kit. Your teeth will be white and white they shall stay!
2. Teeth whitening toothpaste
This is one of those things that could leave you very disappointed. You’ll often find the world promised with teeth whitening toothpastes. Incredible before and afters can glaze over the truth and when you try out the toothpaste for yourself you see very little improvement. In reality the concentration of whitening solution by law has to be very low which means that the toothpaste will only have a little effect on surface stains.
3. Whitening strips
Whitening strips are quite simply little strips containing whitening solution that you overlay on to your teeth. You’ll need to leave these for some time and then remove them. These strips work much better than teeth whitening toothpaste. However it can be difficult to get the strips to cover the entire tooth which often leaves gaps and different shades of white on your teeth. Also, along with teeth whitening toothpaste, the strips do not contain a very concentrated amount of whitening solution and so there is a limit to how white your teeth can get.
4. Take home whitening trays
These are the best of the best. If you want your teeth to be as white as they can be then this is really your best option. These trays are not only simple but reliable and can be reused in the future at the cost of just some extra whitening solution.
What’s the process?
You would pop in to the dental practice in Cardiff where you would have a set of trays made for your teeth. Then, from the comfort of your own home, use the supplied syringes to apply a small amount of whitening solution into each tooth section on the tray. You can then wear these trays for 1-2 hour periods over 2 weeks to whiten your teeth up to the point where you are happy. Simple!
How to KEEP your teeth white!
Once you’ve managed to get your teeth to a sparkling shade of white you’ll certainly want to keep them like that. Here are some pointers to get you on the track to maintaining your new white teeth.
There are certain foods that are important to dodge when aiming to keep your teeth as white as possible. Citrus fruits, soda, coffee, sweets, tea and red wine to name but a few. On the other hand, foods such as strawberries and cheese are both good for keeping your teeth white. For a more in depth look at these foods check out this article.
Habitually living a healthy lifestyle is essential in order to keep your teeth in good nick. Smoking is a no no and keeping a regular habit of brushing and flossing your teeth must be a daily task. In fact if you don’t floss then you miss cleaning approximately 35% of your tooth’s surfaces. It is also very important to make a habit of visiting your dentist for checkups at least every six months. This can help you to prevent detrimental issues arising in the future.
Teeth whitening kits are a staple in the home of anyone aiming to look after their appearance. They are simple to use. They are cost effective. And most importantly, they can be extremely good at whitening your teeth!
How Does a Teeth Whitening Kit Work?
Well, there are several types of teeth whitening kit that you can try out. Some work better than others. And each can have its own method of working.
Take Home Whitening Trays Give Amazing Results
Take home whitening kits are, in our opinion, the most effective way of whitening your teeth. The process is simple too. You first need to have a set of trays created. These trays are clear moulds of your teeth that sit snugly against both the upper and lower arch. In order to have these made you’ll pop in to our dentist in Cardiff where we will take a mould of your teeth. These are then carefully crafted to create a perfect tray for your teeth.
So you have the trays, what next?
When coming in to collect your trays you’ll also be given a series of whitening solution and syringes as well as some simple instructions on what to do next.
Once at home you’ll need to open one of the syringes by twisting the nozzle at the end. You will then squeeze just a drop of solution into each of the sections of the tray. At this point you are ready to begin your whitening. You slot the trays into your mouth, wipe away any excess solution that may have oozed out, and then you just need to wait. Whilst waiting you can go about your everyday business. Apart from eating, drinking or doing anything like smoking of course.
After 1.5 hours…
Once your trays have been in for around 1.5 hours you are ready to take them out. Now you can give them a rinse and a clean under the tap and place them back in the box until tomorrow. It is advised not to brush your teeth just yet but instead rinse out your mouth with water.
You can then repeat this process daily for up to 2 weeks. However, you’ll probably reach your targeted stage of whiteness before those 2 weeks are up in which case you can stop whitening them and save your remainder solution for when you want to top up.
What Results Can You Expect From this Teeth Whitening Kit?
The brightest of white smiles can be achieved using our take home teeth whitening kit. In fact, we can guarantee that you’ll reach what is known as ‘saturation point’. Saturation point is basically when your teeth have become the whitest they can possibly become. This will vary with different sets of teeth but we can assure that you’ll reach that point at least. Some people prefer not to reach such a level of whiteness and that is entirely fine too. It just means that you’ll need to decide at what point to stop the whitening process between treatment 1 and treatment 14.
What are the Alternatives to Teeth Whitening Kits?
There are a few alternatives you can go for. However, the thing to note is that most other options cannot penetrate deep into the tooth to remove stains fully. Instead they will only be useful for surface stains. This is great for those who have teeth that are only slightly discoloured on the surfaces. However, in other instances you may be disappointed with the obtained results. Some of those alternatives include, whitening strips and charcoal toothpaste. Although those methods are not so great, there is one other brilliant method to whiten teeth…
Laser Teeth Whitening
Not nearly as scary as it sounds. You get to do this one comfortably sat in the dental chair. With our Philips Zoom laser teeth whitening, your teeth will be treated for 4 x 15 minute sessions to bring your teeth up to 8 shades whiter. One of the great advantages of this technique is the speed in which your teeth can be whitened. After the treatment you’ll also be given a set of whitening trays and some solution so you can maintain your bright white smile in the future!
If you really want to achieve a sparkling white smile then your best bet is to go for an in house treatment as this will help you reach saturation point. On the other hand, those less efficient treatments such as charcoal toothpaste and whitening strips will really only touch the surface which may lead to you being disappointed.
If you are thinking about whitening your teeth then it is very important that you first make sure you are dentally fit. Even if all you need is a filling then this can still be dangerous for you to have a whitening procedure before having the filling. This is because the whitening solution will be able to get inside the tooth. You’ll first need to visit the cosmetic dentist for a consultation where he can check out your teeth to be sure that it is safe for you to proceed with the treatment.

Teeth veneers are used every day as a tool to sculpt the perfect smile. These carefully crafted teeth are intricately attached over the existing tooth to create an eye catching smile that emanates from the face.
What Teeth Veneers Can Do For You
Many people who are in search of revamping their smile are searching because of a lack of confidence in their current smile. The psychological effect that a crooked smile can have is huge. The smile is the first thing that is noticed when meeting a new person. Imagine feeling the need to hide your smile due to this. There is a lack of connection when meeting new people and a difficulty to bond in the long term. Many people even avoid social interaction altogether so that they don’t have to go through the ordeal of worrying about what others will think of their smile.
A New Smile
Imagine a world where all of this can turn around. You are able to greet people with confidence. You are able to connect with people, able to make new friends, able to live life with the freedom that you should be able to. All of this is possible with a simple treatment of teeth veneers. After an initial consult with our award winning dentist you will get to discuss the dream smile you have been imagining. Then we can make that become a reality.
Teeth Veneers: A Simple Solution
After deciding on going for the treatment you will be able to choose exactly how your new smile will look. The degree of detail that can be taken into the fabrication of veneers is truly remarkable. Even small lines and indents can be added to the teeth to ensure that they look as realistic as possible. In fact, unless you knew that they were veneers you would just think that the happy smile was just a result of extremely lucky genetics.
Giselle never had perfect genetics when it came to her teeth. Even so, her family used to say she had a cute smile when she was very young. This was because she still felt free and had no insecurity about how she smiled and this shone through. However, as she started high school and began looking at others teeth she started to become more inhibited. She felt insecure and this sapped her confidence. Giselle hated having photographs taken. She would practice different smiles in the mirror that would allow her to hide her teeth. She would use this smile in photographs assuming she could not avoid having them taken altogether.
Giselle suffered with this cloud above her head until her mid twenties when she put her foot down and said ‘enough is enough!’. She started searching for options. A consideration was put forward for the Six Month Smile brace but when she came across veneers she felt that this was the perfect solution for her.
How Did Giselle’s Life Change?
Giselle hadn’t realised the feeling of complete freedom until that moment she looked in the mirror and saw those perfect teeth smiling back at her. The continuous hum of low self esteem had been plucked out from her mind and replaced with a beaming sense of pride. Her life had been changed.
The Advantages of Teeth Veneers
There are so many advantages of teeth veneers that we hear our patients expressing to us every day. Many of those are related to the psychological gains that have been achieved and the new lease of life given to the patients.
1. They provide a natural looking tooth
The veneers is designed with small etches and contours just like any regular tooth, that is if you want it designed that way. This means that the tooth can look completely natural! If you, on the other hand would like to go for that Hollywood look then a more porcelain, shiny style is optional.
2. Porcelain is very well tolerated by gum tissue
The material used in most veneers is porcelain. The great thing about this is that it is very well tolerated by the gums. You’ll have little to no resistance and inflammation from them where as other solutions can cause your gums to be reactive.
3. Thin veneers don’t require as much shaping as some alternatives
Some options such as crowns can require some shaving down of the tooth. However, veneers have evolved into very intricate designs that can now be incredibly thin. By making them so thin we are able to fit them to your teeth with as little adjustments made to your original teeth as possible. The amount of work needed to be done to your original teeth will depend though on the current situation of your teeth and the level of crowding that you currently have.
4. Increased confidence
One of the biggest advantages of teeth veneers is the dramatic increase in confidence that is able to be achieved. You can walk into the dental clinic lacking the ability to even smile authentically and walk out a few hours later with the brightest most genuine smile beaming from cheek to cheek. This will have a snowball effect in your family life, your social life and your work life.
5. Fast treatment times
Unlike treatments such as teeth straightening, teeth veneers can be fitted fairly quickly. So if you are not keen to wait for 6-12 months for your teeth to be naturally straightened then perhaps the veneers treatment is for you. With veneers you can have your smile in just two easy visits!
There are many benefits, both physically and psychologically, to having sparkly white teeth. People who undergo a teeth whitening procedure notice a difference not just to their internal state in terms of general feelings of well-being but also to how they’re perceived by other people. When you have a new pair of pearly whites, you’ll have the self-confidence you need to impress a date or stand out at a job interview. Below are some more benefits to having a teeth whitening treatment, as well as how to keep your teeth white well after you’ve had your teeth whitened.
How Getting Teeth Whitening will Benefit your Life
When you get your teeth whitened, you’re more likely to keep better care of them to keep them looking good, so users will often create a healthy oral hygiene plan; consisting of brushing, flossing, mouthwash and regular trips to the dentist for a checkup.
Because your new sparkling smile will stand out, people will naturally focus on your teeth, therefore minimising the appearance of wrinkles, such as the frown line. You will also be perceived as losing many years from your face as having white teeth is associated sub-consciously with being more youthful, the cause of this is that as we age, external factors like smoking and teeth staining food and drinks damage and discolour your teeth.
Psychological Benefits to getting Teeth Whitening
When we smile, our body naturally produces endorphin’s, which are the ‘feel good’ hormones which brighten our day. This will lead to having more confidence when going to a job interview – there have been studies which show that people with a nice smile are more prepared when going to a job interview. This newfound confidence will be associated with positive traits to your potential employer, increasing your chances of finding employment. The confidence you gain from teeth whitening will not just help you when looking for employment, it will also help tremendously when it comes to your love life – people with whiter teeth are shown in studies to be more outgoing and engaging, this is a direct result of the self-confidence you gain from getting whiter teeth.
The bottom line is that by gaining whiter teeth, you will be perceived by others as being more successful in all areas of life, also you will be deemed more trustworthy due to the ‘halo’ effect that people perceive when you have white teeth.
Teeth Whitening at Bamboo Dental
Before coming in for any teeth whitening services, clients are invited to come and visit the practice for a free consultation, where you will be briefed on how the procedure works, the dentist will also assess your teeth to ensure that you are suitable for treatment.
There are two teeth whitening procedures that are offered at Bamboo Dental, both are affordable, quick and pain-free. The first procedure is the take-home teeth whitening, this is a whitening solution that you have the ability to use in the comfort of your own home. After confirming your suitability with our treatment during your free consultation, impressions will be made of your teeth which will harden and become the trays of which you put the teeth whitening solution on whilst at home. The tray and solution is then left in your mouth for 1.5 hours before being removed, this can be repeated until the level of whiteness you require is achieved. This take-home teeth whitening procedure costs £205 is our cheapest teeth whitening procedure.
The second procedure is the in-chair laser teeth whitening, this is our most advanced teeth whitening procedure which uses Philips LED whitening technology. The treatment consists of four 15 minute sessions, which will give the client immediate results of up to 8 shades whiter, depending on the clients preferences. To follow up with the immediate results, you will be provided with free activators and take home trays, these allow the user to supplement their results from their own home. The in-chair laser teeth whitening procedures quick treatment time (four 15 minute sessions) is what appeals to our customer who want an instantaneous smile transformation.
How to keep teeth white after a procedure
While you may be amazed by the immediate results after a procedure, there will be maintenance needed to keep them sparkling. Here are some tips on how to keep your teeth white after a visit to Bamboo dental;
- Brush twice daily, in the morning and after dinner in the evening. Brushing at these times are optimal as they prevent acid or chemicals from staining or weakening teeth.
- Cut down on food and drinks that are likely to stain or damage teeth, such as coffee, red wine, turmeric, beetroot and acidic foods like lemons.
- Consider using a straw when drinking, this will prevent the harmful acids and chemicals from making contact with your teeth.
- Stick to a ‘white diet’ for two weeks after your whitening procedure. Foods such as rice, milk, yogurt, cottage cheese are the most popular foods to consume during a ‘white diet’.
- It is recommended to use whitening floss and mouthwash after brushing, twice a day. Using floss and mouthwash remove the particles between the teeth that your toothbrush might not be able to reach, your oral hygiene will also be improved when floss and mouthwash is used on a regular basis.

Six Month Smiles is a discreet straightening system which uses clear brackets and wires to straighten teeth. The treatment is so popular as it is almost invisible, meaning you don’t have to worry about showing your teeth to others during your treatment. Long gone are the days of traditional train braces. We believe you shouldn’t have to fork out a fortune for straight white teeth, and you shouldn’t have to be embarrassed by unsightly braces during your treatment.
Monthly Payment Plans
Of course, dental care can be costly upfront. We’re not denying it. We aim to offer the most affordable prices to our patients but understand that it’s not always convenient to pay up front. We don’t think you should have to either which is why offer monthly payment plans to make your journey towards the perfect smile as stress free as possible. You can choose to pay over twelve or twenty four months, meaning your wallet can look as good as your smile. Paying monthly is so much easier than paying up front, and every patient that opts for a pay monthly programme reveals to us they couldn’t have had their dream smile without it. You pay your phone bill monthly, so why not pay for you smile monthly too? Especially when your smile is far more important that your phone!

Clear braces, fast results, a happier you
Clear braces: The Choices
We’re sure we don’t need to remind you of the benefits of having straight white teeth. Everybody wants straight white teeth. Not only does having an aligned smile significantly add to your appearance, but it also works wonders for your confidence. We’re sure that the reason why you’re reading this blog now is probably down to a desire to boost your confidence. However, we understand that many people who are self conscious about their smile will be just as self conscious about a train track brace in their mouth. The good news is that we’ve come a long way from the days of traditional train track braces. No longer do you need to worry about silver train track braces on your teeth. After all, you shouldn’t have to worry about the straightening process!
So what treatments do Bamboo Dental offer exactly? Which alternatives do we provide for discreet teeth straightening? We offer two major clear aligning systems at Bamboo Dental – Invisalign and Six Month Smiles. Which treatment you opt is entirely down to personal preference. In this blog we will talk you through the two systems to help you better decide which treatment could be perfect for you. Both are effective, but as we said, the choice is completely down to you.
Invisalign – The convenient clear aligning system
Everybody wants that perfect straight white smile. The whitening process is simple enough but the actual straightening process requires more effort and care. The length of treatment time from one system to another varies. At Bamboo Dental we offer only the fastest and effective treatments. We don’t like to sacrifice quality of treatment for faster treatment time- but luckily for you – we don’t have to! Our five time award winning team of experts can provide not just the very best treatment, but provide it fast.
One of our straightening systems at Bamboo Dental is Invisalign. Invisalign is an innovative treatment that offers you discreet straightening fast. Invisalign involves coming along to the practice and having impressions taken of your teeth. Once these impressions are taken, we will provide you with two gum shield like trays to wear at all times. These custom fit trays are designed to straighten the teeth whilst making little difference visually. These trays are close to invisible and our patients comment on how friends and family fail to notice they’re even wearing the aligners. During you treatment, Dr. Dan or another member of the team will regularly see you to make any adjustments that are required. You’ll be able to follow your progress via the amazing Invisalign app on your phone or tablet. We’re here with you every step of the way and will support you in any way we can. These clear braces are hugely popular as you are able to remove them when eating or drinking, or cleaning teeth. If you think Invisalign is something you may be interested in, read more about it here.
Six Month Smiles – Clear braces
Although Invisalign is a hugely popular treatment, Six Month Smiles is our number 1 clear braces system at Bamboo Dental. Why’s that you ask? There are several reasons. Firstly, Dr. Daniel Rogers is a leading figure in the UK for offering Six Month Smiles – the straightening system that promises you straighter white teeth in just six months or less. We’re offering you world class state of the treatment at affordable prices. No other system is as fast or effective as Six Month Smiles. Why do people opt for Invisalign over Six Month Smiles then? Six Month Smiles is a fantastic straightening system, however the clear braces are fixed to the teeth. Composed of thin clear wires and brackets, Six Month Smiles is just as discreet but you can’t remove them as you can with Invisalign aligners. Which ever treatment you choose therefore will rest on one question. What is more important to you – quicker results with fixed clear braces, or just as effective results but over a longer period of time? We must stress that both methods are just as effective as the other, which one you opt for is again your choice. Dr. Dan or another member of the team will offer his expert opinion and which one you could benefit from more during your free consultation for clear braces at Bamboo Dental. To find out more about Six Month Smiles, why not read up on the treatment on our Six Month Smiles page?
Free consultation for clear braces
Should you be interested in either of our clear braces systems (and why wouldn’t you be!), why not give us a call on 02920 569769 and organise a free consultation. We aim to offer answers to any questions you may have on the website or over the phone. However, the best place to ask an questions or queries is at a free consultation with one of our experts at the practice. In organising a free consultation, you’re securing a slot with one of the countries leading dentists. Our private Cardiff dentist is not only open 7 days a week but is manned by a 5 times award winning team. These are just a few of the reasons why you should consider registering at our Cardiff dentist now! But that’s not all, there are so many reasons that you should consider when deciding on which route to take your dental treatment down. Take a seat and contemplate. It’s a very important decision and should be thought about carefully.
Our Cardiff Dentist is the Dentist for you!
Many people are deciding to switch their dental provider from the NHS to private and this is not surprising considering the wide plethora of benefits to making the change. Here we are going to discuss what these benefits may be and open the lid on real life after joining a private Cardiff dentist.
Why join Bamboo’s private Cardiff dentist?
If you start to consider switching your dental provision to private then you will most likely come across the general stigma that it is just too expensive. Well, this is actually no longer the case. In fact, the price of private dentistry has decreased dramatically in recent years making it more affordable than ever. Due to this large decrease in price there has been a 20% increase in cosmetic work carried out through the last 3-4 years. This is not only due to the decreased prices but also due to the advancements in technology that have made a wider variety of treatments even more accessible to those searching for ways to look after their smiles.
A wider choice of treatments
New innovations spring up in the dental industry every year and you’ll find these mostly available in the private sector. This is due to the fact that most newer treatments wouldn’t be eligible for NHS funding. If you chose to go private then a wide range of treatments are available to you ranging from fillings and crowns to teeth whitening and dental implants. Not only this but there is an incentive for private dentists to keep on learning about new techniques and treatments as these add an extra dimension to the practice. Having these available to you may be priceless in your future dental treatments.
More time with your dentist
Under the pressure of NHS targets, many dentists will be forced to cut the time they can spend with you to as little as possible. However, when you visit a private dentist there is more leeway. The dentist does not need to be so rushed and can make sure that your treatment has been completed thoroughly and to a high standard. NHS targets can be a real burden in terms of the quality of treatment provided. It is kind of a paradox in that targets are needed to provide enough treatment for everyone who needs it but the more people that require treatment means that less time can be spent on each patient per time period in order for all of the targets to be met. In private dentistry, your practice will only accept the amount of patients that it has the capacity to treat to the high standards that they have set. This reflects strongly on the individual practice and so is certainly the way to go!
Where NHS treatments often focus on solving issues that you have with your teeth it is important not to neglect the idea of prevention. When you visit your private dentist, not only will current issues be solved but extensive care can be taken to make sure that you are very low risk from gaining problems in the future.
A range of finance options
When opting for higher end treatments such as dental implants or cosmetic veneers or simply choosing to sign up to a dental plan, there are numerous ways you are able to pay for your treatment.
Dental insurance is widely available and can be purchased from several reputable companies. Some of these include; Bupa, Cigna and Allianz and you can expect to pay around £20 per month. Many employers will actually offer you dental insurance as a part of your contract. When you go for this type of dental insurance you will usually have 70% – 100% of your treatment costs covered.
Monthly Payment Plans
The majority of private dentists have some form of payment plan available. These come in the form of a medical loan and can help you spread the cost of your treatment interest free across up to three years. This can make a seemingly expensive treatment very affordable and accessible to everyone!
Practice Dentist Plans
Most private dentists will have some form of health plan available for its patients to sign up to. One of the most popular is called Denplan. This plan has a general cost of £15-£25 per month and is great at nurturing the habit of visiting the dentist for regular check ups, something essential for healthy oral hygiene.
These regular visits enable the dentist to spot any potential issues very early. This means that problems can be resolved before the get worse down the line.
You’ll find that when you go private, you will see a higher quality of care that is back up by guarantees. For example, Bamboo Offer a personal 5 year guarantee on cosmetic treatments. This is key as it reflects the immense confidence that our Head Dentist, Dr Dan has in the quality and success rate of his treatments.
